| Inter-Library Loans is a co-operative service among the public, university and special libraries in Australia and beyond. So if we do not have a book that you would like to borrow, we can search the national bibliographic database, locate the item and borrow from the holding library on your behalf. (Some items are not for loan.) All you need to do is request the book at Mona Vale library (or email us at ill@pittwater.nsw.gov.au), pay the fee, and we will order it for you. When it is delivered to our library we will contact you to collect it. When the book is due back you simply return it to us and we will forward it to its home library. You need to pay a booking fee when requesting an inter-library loan, and if the lending library charges us a fee for this service you will also need to pay this. Public libraries do not charge each other for this service. The State Library of NSW provides many of the inter-library loan items and has a Disability resources collection from which Pittwater Library Service can borrow. The Inter-Library Loans service is available to members only. If you are a member of another public library and wish to borrow one of our items please request it through your library. |
